MillCamp Academy is an education centre. It is a brand new concept, a brand new type of boarding school for young entrepreneurs. It has been created for young people to bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood in a fun and exciting way. It has been created as a place to learn about the kind of life skills you need when you first step out on your own. It has been created because the world needs creative and enthusiastic young people to seek career-avenues of diverse character and content.

FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Premises supporting living, learning, creating and working in a fun and active way – with great possibilities to retreat and relax.
The MillCamp centre is in a rural area of Zealand, Denmark. It is close to the coast in hilly terrain. It’s on a 8.800 m2 plot with two main buildings.
The address is Møllestrædet 36, 4550 Asnæs. When coming from outside of Denmark you fly into Copenhagen, take a train from Copenhagen to Holbæk, change trains there for the local rail to Asnæs, and someone will come and pick you up at the train station. MillCamp is 3,6 km from the station which is 5 minutes by car or a 40 minute walk.
MillCamp is located in the protected natural area – UNESCO Global Geopark Odsherred.
The Camp
The grounds of MillCamp is in three levels: at the top we have an ‘orchard’ with fruit trees and a terrace outside the dining room overlooking the grounds. This area has an area for pitching tents and building a fireplace.
The next level down is a ball-pitch with a spectators level halfway, and the level furthest down has a vegetable garden. We have a big garage/workshop/shed and a chicken pen. We intend to build a shelter/meditation lookout hideaway for peaceful contemplation – and one day we will put up a greenhouse where we currently have a bbq-area.
Two main buildings
1. The Dormitory Building
In the basement of this building we have the ‘Auditorium’ or ‘Assembly hall’ however you want to call it (or a party room!). It is 117 m2. This will be the place for physical exercises, assembly, theatre, concerts etc.
The ground floor has 12 rooms with bunk beds. There are two bathrooms, each containing two toilets and two showers, and there is a wash-room containing a handicap-toilet and another shower on the ground floor.
From the ground floor you will be able to access the ‘Auditorium’ from inside the building using a spiral staircase.
On the first floor, there are 6 team-rooms, three toilets and two showers as well as a flat (95m2) with a lounge/kitchen and bedroom/office. The flat will serve as the hangout and facilitators quarters (the nightwatch will be able to sleep in the bedroom/office).
2. The Farmhouse (the old school) building
It has a fully equipped industrial kitchen and a big dining room/lounge with a fireplace. From the entrance is access to 4 toilets and 2 showers.
Besides MillCamp’s own yard you can enjoy walks nearby and explore the beautiful area with fields, hills and an old windmill. We also have bicycles for you to borrow and go for a ride. Asnæs shopping mall is really close by along with Odsherred Gymnasium. Nearby is also an indoor swimming pool, a sports hall and a beautiful beach.
HOUSE RULES
We have some general house rules:
- There is a no alcohol tolerance
- No smoking on the premises
- No fornication allowed
Breaking of rules can lead to being expelled.
Secondly, all the students will be part of a democratic process, where they will be involved in making decisions that involve them. This way it will be like in real life: there are certain rules and how we administer them is a collaborative decision.

ROADMAP
The first parts of MillCamp were built in 1837. It used to be a primary level school, “Høve skole” for 110 years up until 1947. Later it became a holiday camp (hence the camp in MillCamp) and for a short period of time, it was also used as a refugee camp. In recent years, it has been used for courses, trainings, and events.
In order to create a first-class, environmentally friendly education centre out of MillCamp there is currently a major building project going on. The education center will be built in stages: Firstly a gentle refurbishment of the current farmhouse and dormitory buildings and the old stables building will be taken down. Next phase will extend the ‘Auditorium’ and make use of the rooftop floors. Next phase will be the building of the new horseshoe building to replace the old farmhouse building etc.
The center has ample possibility for expansion as we expect popularity to grow.
A lot of changes are being made to make this a state-of-the-art and up-to-date education centre. A geothermal system with >3.000 m’s of pipe is being laid in the earth to create and secure a sustainable heating system. This will be mostly run by solar power. Because of this system, the buildings are being totally refurbished with floor heating and extra insulation.
An extension of the auditorium will be made with a terrace as rooftop, overlooking the great open space with fields and Odsherred Zoo. The old stable building will be replaced with a brand new building, which will extend to join the main house, which houses the canteen and kitchen.
There is a lot of work to do, and while the living quarters and “Dorm” building will be finished by the time the program starts, we do not expect to have the new building replacing the stable building ready for some time.
